The problem/concern would be you syncing w/ other iTunes libs (edit: and they're not just concerned about ITMS purchases.
Not hard for Apple to stop this with something like a digital signature allowing your pod to only sync with your library
As far as sharing in your range. Again a waste of battery to support this. I have what I wnat ton hear for the most part. I don't much care to drain my battery searching other users' libs (that will come and go as they wander around and in and out of range - oh great, I found a cool Streets video I don't have!! Oh wait he just left range!!!), it's short-lived enough already.
Agreed but this feature could be used for you to listen to your friends ipod music if they have a song they want you to hear OR in the work place. You should be in range for at least 8 hrs of the day :p

IMO, if a gearbox has a setting where it will automatically shift gears for you and you don't have to touch it, it's an automatic gearbox.
Or is it a manual gearbox capable of automatic shifting? ;)
Also, Europeans favor driving experience over comfort.
If that was actually the case, diesels wouldn't be so popular. ;)
The clutches in most smaller cars (e.g. our MINIs) are light enough it's really not that much work.
But to be fair, it is still more though then pressing a brake pedal isn't it? ;)

Ok, So I moved the Mini back to the corner where it sat before, and added my wireless trackpad and keyboard to the desk. I'm still not sure on the keyboard. it feels different than the one built into the MBP. I think it might feel mushy... I need to put something on top of my desk so that things don't slid around... The trackpad will slide as I move it as will the MBP if it's sitting on the desk surface...

I sort of support this, but as has been said before I think its time that America puts a heavier burden on allied nations to provide military assistance for UN resolutions.
America is constantly being blamed for policing the world and I think it is a criticism we often deserve.
But if the UN / international community is willing to allow/support the enforcement of a no fly zone. Than they should bear equal responsibility for the execution of the movement, the US shouldn't be providing 90% of the military support and funds.
This is being led by the UK and France... Obama has been dragging his feet.

Doesn't seem to stop Obama from going on TV to claim credit though.

Launchpad is now an app in the Applications folder, and can be removed from the Dock.
Is frontrow back?
No, and they removed the mention of it from the Sound prefpane. ("Play Front Row sound effects")

An iPhone, not as a cell phone, but as a landline skype style wifi cordless phone to go with iChat. Wouldn't that make sense for Apple to make? Ties in with their computers & iLife, would work in all countries, and would be easy, and possibly cheap for them to make.
Steve Jobs, would probably want want to make a phone that transitions seamlessly between indoor wifi and the cell networks.
I was thinking that. Maybe thats why the iPhone pix look more like a house phone instead of cell phone?
Hmmmm... ?

Can someone do the math? What would the file size be for 2 hour movie at present? What about if it were compressed into a zip or tz file? What would it be if the quality were improved? How long would it take to download these files with dialup, on dsl, on cable. I would think that most people would not be downloading using their offices T1 connection ;)
How long would you wait or tie up your computer's internet connection to download an old movie from Disney?
OK, I'm just going to do the maths...
Let's see, divide by 1024.....carry the one....add 6...average speed of an unladen swallow...take the inverse and...
The answer is: Very BIG!!

My car (well, when I finally pass my test) is below, the blue Nissan Micra on the far left. Not a very impressive car at all by any means, but it was seen on Top Gear a few years back (http://i53.tinypic.com/33mv0yb.png) when the boys made their electric car and took it to Oxford.

D) Change the remote- no offense, but this remote needs a few more buttons, considering it may drive a media hub.
Well, then you don't understand Apple's magic. That's precisely where
they are good at: make complicated things simple.
It's like a Sony TV remote control compared to others : when you use it, you find everything else too much complicated...

The iMac update is likely to be a spec bump, Sandy Bridge, better Graphics, etc...plus Thunderbolt. I plan to hang on to my current model for now.
I am more excited about a potential Mac Mini Update, because I need one of those.

And to make things worse, there is no "Jobs" waiting on the wings to salvage Microsoft from itself, and that will be the sole reason why they won't last long (would've Apple had, if not for Steve and NeXT?)...
As for buying clues, sure! Maybe they'll hire someone from outside. But naaah, they're too proud to change their ways, I guess...
I agree with almost everything you wrote (you're a pretty smart guy!) but offer two comments:
1 - We don't know there isn't a Jobs waiting in the wings. We also don't know there isn't a Jobs in the #2 spot at some Fortune 50 company who could be in a MS executive suite in 3 years.
2 - MS being "too proud" is exactly the kind of thing I mean when I write about not being able to predict the post-Bill future. He is certainly too proud but who knows about Bill 2.0?
You make the point about the rank-and-file being mostly very talented and I agree. If MS gets executives who stay out of the way who knows what Zune 3.0 will be like?

You opinion may be true of some people- not all. I did not choose to be attracted to guys. I also could never have sex with a woman. It's not physically possible for me, if you get my meaning. Stop telling other people that you know everything about them. You don't. Not everyone is the same.
In any of my comments I never said I new anything about them. I am speculating from pure observation. I am basing everything I know off of my friends experiences and what I've heard from them and what they saw to communities and towns during there speeches. No, I don't get your meaning either. So many ways to guess that meaning that I wouldn't be right if I guessed.

Hmm... the Mini still has no Core 2 Duo? That does not sound too promising for MacBook (Pro) updates... unless Apple only wants to use the Core 2 Duo for the high end laptops (MacBook Pro) of course... Or are they waiting untill Leopard has been released?
Yup that seems like bad news for anyone hoping C2D MacBooks this september. But I doubt there was anyone realistically expecting Merom MB this soon. But I do hope they pump out Merom MBP on 12 Sept. May be a completely new and cool design for the MBP is waiting for as next tuesday.

So long as iTV can reliably pull all of our media content from our PC/Mac, without it overloading iTunes/iPhoto, we'll be happy.
It may just be what's needed for us to finally replace our decaying 19inch TV for a widescreen 26inch LCD TV. :)
Since our DVD player's pretty knackered too, I was thinking it'd be nice to stick a DVD in my MacPro and have iTV stream it to the front room, one less box to worry about. Built-in DVR would be sweet, no more VHS machine, but it'd need a Canadian TV-Guide.

does it mean mac's desktop market share is climbing? 5%?
It would appear so. Apple's computer sales rose faster than the overall market. But, most of those sales were laptops... so the desktop marketshare is probably falling ;)

*Most critical applications will be converted by September*
Interesting...
I found this to be most interesting. I think we could actually see some Adobe apps by Septemeber. Adobe has been going on an 18-24 month cycle and based when CS2 was released Sept/Oct would be 18 months and 24 would be April when Adobe has said basically "no later than".

i dont really think the ipod needs to be updated.
its great the way it is, and it hasnt even been a year since it was released!
why are you all on this idea of an ipod update?
the ipod isnt a computer that needs a new processor and faster components.
mp3 files just play.

I see no problem with this app. It is up to individuals to decide if and when they need help. (Not implying gays need help.) I wish Apple would ease up on it's morality standards. Just establish an adult-religious-political, poor taste section in the app store.
Disclaimer: as someone who does not own a single app, it's just an impression I have that Apple is over-controlling. However I do like that they screen new apps for some kind of standard. When I get an iPhone or iPad, I'm sure I'll dive into the app scene.

Hey, thank you for being an idiot !! I wasn't replying because I went on Holidays. I went to see Tokyo for Five days and track down the old places of Edo described in Ernest Satow's 1921 book "A diplomat in Japan" and to buy a new Emac !! Its 115 000 yen in Japan for a Superdrive model. Oh, I forgot...For you being a high school graduate - Edo (or Yedo in some translations) is the old name of Tokyo. Up until the Meiji restoration.
If I was stupid - I wouldn't speak two languages
If I was an ignorant person - I would have stayed in my home country and not learn about the ways of the world...I believe that you have spent too much time in front of you mac.
If I was a vain pretender to knowledge - Do you know who Ernest Satow was ? Do you know over 2,000 Japanese kanji characters ? Do you know how to live in another country ? You have NO IDEA
So please don't call other people names - This is a thread for discussion not a primary school (If you are American - a primary school is a elementary school) :D
Wow, I was scouring this thread to see where it had started, and I just noticed this post. Bad day?
By the way, you should read your post again, you manage to be pedantic and mistaken at the same time: your grammar is a shambles, you mention immediately that you went to Tokyo and then you call it Edo and then mention something aboutand this I'm gleaning the meaningneeding to be a high school graduate to know that Edo was the name of Tokyo up until the Meiji Restoration. Um kay. Then something about 2,000 kanji characters. That's very impressive and you should be proud of your accomplishment in learning Japanese I understand it is very difficult. However, I would like to point out that many many Japanese also know kanji characters and it is disctinctly possible that some, maybe more than a few know more than 2,000 characters and speak English and are living in the United States or in Europe.
I would also like to point out that I think you're wrong in your general opinion in this thread and that I speak only two languages (unfortunately not Japanese) although I can read Latin and I too have been in another country besides the United States.
Knowledge is a sword, it cuts both ways.
Oh and by the way, congrats on knowing who Ernest Satow is. Who is Alfred Thayer Mahan? Or N. Scott Momaday? Or Saigo Takamori for that matter?
