I'm planning on getting back into photography, I'd like to get a Canon T2i and the 'Nifty Fifty' lens, So I will just use my new Pelican for that.
Maybe everyone won't hate me now.
To end all further BS do I feel like an idiot for putting sunglasses in a gun case? No.
Was it over kill? Yeah, I'll admit that.
Did I lose money on it? Nope, I've already found a new use for it.
The only thing that irritates the **** out of me, Is the members here on MacRumors, I've been through this type of crap before, Apparently everyone was bullied as a child or something because when ANYONE says something that isn't correct or seems "odd" people here jump on them and make sure to rub whatever it is in their face.
To me, Members here at MacRumors (not all, but lots) are the dictionary definition for 'Internet Bullying/Harassment.'
I've heard that you guys like to argue, Well believe it or not, Not all people like to argue. Nor do all people like to hear your narrow-minded pessimistic opinions.

No, those aren't the best possible choices. Those are probably the worst possible choice.

The examples given in that link are extremely dumb. Nobody is going anywhere when they are at their PC. They are not being forced to make a spur of the moment decision when they use their computer, they have time to sit and read the dialogue and understand the consequences of their choices. We are not talking about reading the whole works of Shakespeare and we aren't talking about an annoying pop up every 5 minutes. There is absolutely no harm in educating the user a little.
The example of the lift buttons is already present in the OS anyway, for example the arrows on a scrollbar.

Provided they move the current Core Duo model down to the $US599 price point with the specs intact, I'll be happy.
My main concerns are to ditch the Core Solo and to lose the combo drive (a bit too 2002 when the rest of the world is offering DVD burners in everything but their $US299 base models). An 80GB HDD (rather than 60GB) to compete with all these cheapies would also be nice.

Totally overkill for a pair of Oakley's, but hey, that's your choice. They're not our sunglasses.
I'm not rich, But I plan on getting another pair in the future, So when I'm carrying $400.00 worth of merchandise that can be fit into a water proof, shock proof, dust proof, etc case that only cost $40.00 I'm happy with it.
Sorry why do you need to keep then dry?! I'm sure they will get wet if you are a coast guard! and how much was that case?
Not saying that I need to keep them dry, But mainly for shock, drop, dirt stuff.
I don't want to put $200-$400 dollars worth of sunglasses just "in my carryon or checked bag" knowing how things get handled in airports.
I'm also a guitarists, So, I tend to be a little on the protective side of things when I use cases. ;)

Even though Apple is Apple, going up against Amazon, which will have more movie options at the time of launch is going to be tough...
unless... they release some sort of new hardware [full screen ipod, plzkthx] that will take the spotlight.

So somebody sues you for (insert nefarious activity of your choice) and you deny it saying you were nowhere near Location-X at the time. Then, under rules of disclosure, they subpeona your iPhone/iPad/MBP/TC to obtain your data. The data shows you were at least in the vicinity of Location-X and so had the opportunity to perform (aforesaid nefarious activity).
They can do that anyways. They could subponea the cell phone records and the cell phone company would have the exact same record from the other side. People really don't understand what is going on here when they fly off the handle with these wacky examples.
The cell phone provider has a log of every cell tower you have visited with your phone. This is often used in legal cases as evidence.
I agree that the location data should be dumped... every few hours... so the files contain minimal information. Backups should exclude all this location data. I cannot imagine why any application needs to know my location from more than a few hours ago.

You may have never used iMovie but it is foolish to assume that none of us have. That idea that you can't edit in iMovie is nonsense, and absurd on the face of it.
The basic process of "This is my source, this is my output" has been around as long as film editing. The overall look of video editing, be it tape to tape, or the current (FC7) editing layout is more or less the same. In points, out points, etc.
Anyway, you know what. Fine. You can have your new iMovie. All yours. I sure as hell can't use it. The trailers in '11 were cute, but beyond that, it's not nearly good enough for polished output. If you want am, there's your option.
All I'm asking is they leave final cut PRO to the pros who know how to use it and like the interface. I want under the hood tweaks to make it faster. Cocoa?

Apple sees the benefit of unifying how things work across OS X and iOS.
There are tons of people that don't know how to install or uninstall apps on their PC, but they do on their iPhone or iPad. By unifying, those people feel comfortable buying a Mac.
But than it should be unified ... not three different ways depending how you got/installed the app. Right now it looks there are three ways of doing it in Lion:
- click & hold
- just trash
- run uninstaller
Unfortunately it is only ONE of those ways depending how you got it.

33 mins per frame with the iMac i7? That seems awfully fast. 25k PPD. That looks like the time of a 3Ghz 8 core previous generation Mac Pro.

Hey, check out this mini mushroom fireball thingie. What kind of bomb is this? It looks kind of big. Edpecially the fact that it's in the backgorund and the camera naturally makes it small. If you were up close, it's gotta be HUGE! ...and makes a mushroom too instantly.

i have recently bought ipod touch 4g ...i am looking for ipod touch 4g cases that provide my ipod a stylish and modish look and protect my pod from scratches and fits perfectly.
Well, I'm not sure if they have any yet, but Vaja is very nice and cool. Fairly expensive though. You could also get a BodyGuard or BSE or Invisible Shield if you would like to still see the Touch and have it be thin.

I truly hope that this rumor turns out ot be false. My 20" Core Duo iMac is only 6 months old. I would be extremely distraught if a 23 incher comes out. Please Apple, wait until January 2007 to update the iMacs (or only update the processors, please).

Please explain to me who would buy a mini and why?
I just don't get it when a imac is close in price with a monitor.
What am I missing?
I have two minis, one of which is running headless, one is running with one of my extra monitors. Why would I want to buy yet another monitor? Besides which, if you're using them as a "poor man's build farm" you don't need superdrives.

I won't get a chance to get this installed for a few days but one of the things I noticed about the new version of Safari was that if you dragged a picture from Safari onto your desktop or a folder that it would create a link rather than downloading the picture to that folder. Can anyone with DP2 confirm this is still the case?
